Voicu Mihnea Şimăndan is a Romanian writer, jouranlist, and teacher who is currently living and working in Bangkok, Thailand. Ever since he was a little boy he loved to read and, later on, to write. He has published non-fiction and fiction in numerous newspapers, magazines, and blogs from around the world.

Mihnea has been a teacher since 2000, having taught English in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His passions include reading, writing, traveling, martial arts, and archery. He also writes at www.mvs.ro. In 1999, he published The Spirit of Medieval Japan (Spiritul Japoniei medievale), a non-fiction book in English and Romanian (bilingual edition). In 2009, he published The Ironman. A Play, a play for children written in English.
