As we thoroughly enjoyed our first joint meeting, we are very happy to announce the second one: we’re meeting with a new group on Sunday August 16th! A bit more formal this time, but still good fun, this meeting will certainly be an interesting and contrasting experience to what we usually have.
| Venue: | The Black Horse, 6 Rathbone Place, London W1T 1HH Tube stations: Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus |
| Date: | Sunday 16th August 2009 |
| Time: | 3pm to 5 pm |
| Entry: | free but booking is essential |
The book chosen for this meeting is “Gods behaving badly” by Marie Phillips. Reviews say it is a funny, easy read, a very witty and entertaining story. Indeed, a story about Greek gods living in contemporary London sounds absolutely funny, as I don’t really know how would their incestuous family manage nowadays. I look forward to reading it and sharing thoughts and opinions with you.
We’ll retain our hosts’ format of having a discussion leader (or leaders) who’ll design the questions and we’ll all have a go at answering them. Once we have finished discussing the book (at about 5 pm) we all go downstairs to the bar so that everyone can talk more socially and get to know the members of the other group.
All you have to do is to read the book, book your space, turn up and be prepared to get involved in the discussion!
Just a reminder, entry is free, but numbers are limited so advance booking is essential. Please reserve your space at contact@coeusarts.com; participants will be confirmed on a first-come first-served basis.
